[D-G] (geology chapter): Expression:latin translation: Leibniz about expression

Let me interprete this citation as an example of the
famous dichotomy between language and the essence of
things (and of the saussurian theory of language as an
arbitrary entity): I stick to my opinion, in a sense
that "dicitur" is to be understood as an impersonal
verb :"they say", then "rem aliquam" is the subject in
an infinitive construction , with the predicate
"exprimere".
"habitudinibus" is a form of Dative connected to the
verb "respondere": to answer, that is to say "to fit
best".-ibus is an ending for Dative and Ablative
plural as well.

How would you explain your translation, I mean
gramatically?

Regards,
R
