Artaud is talking in his book about Homs, Émèse.
he is attempting to describe the horrors happening, possibly still to these
days, underground.
in Homs/Emèse.
do you think his book describes something that disappeared?
why ? who would have stopped it?
it doesn't seem from reading Artaud, and on later terms reading the roman
writers that inspired him, archiving the past. Dion Cassius and the others.
