** Call for Stream Proposals (DEADLINE: 22 NOVEMBER 2013)
------------------------------------------------------------

The London Conference in Critical Thought (LCCT) is an annual event that offers a space for an interdisciplinary exchange of ideas for scholars who work with critical traditions and concerns. In particular it aims to provide opportunities for those who frequently find themselves at the margins of their department or discipline to engage with other scholars who share theoretical approaches and interests. Central to this vision is an inter-institutional, non-hierarchal, and accessible event which makes a particular effort to embrace emergent thought and the participation of emerging academics, fostering new avenues for critically orientated scholarship and collaboration.

There is no pre-determined theme for the conference. Instead, we encourage conversations to form around the individual streams which are selected from those proposed each year. Stream proposals form the basis of our Call for Papers, and as such, are at the heart of the academic tone and content of each year’s conference. Last year’s conference included diverse topics such as: New Materialisms; The Soul at Work and in Debt; Feedback Loops of Feminist Theory and Practice; On Representation/Non Representation; Pragmatism and Political Criticism, etcetera.

The Call for Streams has now opened for the 3^rd annual London Conference in Critical Thought, and we welcome submissions that broadly engage with ‘Critical Thought’ and that seek to stimulate a range of cross-disciplinary responses. Accepted proposals will form the basis for the LCCT Call for Papers, and those whose proposals are accepted will take an active role as stream coordinators working with the LCCT organising collective. There will also be the opportunity to submit proceedings from streams as a special editor to the forthcoming London Journal for Critical Thought.

Further guidance, including details on stream organisation responsibilities, how streams and papers are selected, examples of successful proposals, and more information on the ethos and organising structure of the LCCT in general can all be found at londoncritical.org (http://wordpress.us4.list-manage.com/track/click?u=77813a9421fc78b892e510d0f&id=94030f902b&e=93b242fcab) .

The deadline for submissions is the 22^nd November 2013. Proposals should not exceed 500 words and should be sent to stream-subs at londoncritical.org (mailto:stream-subs at londoncritical.org) .
