[D-G] Mystic, psychosis, , "Normopaths" (from Guattaris de la borde)

Hwenk, reading sombedoy does not make you a follower. I find Aurobindo interesting that is all.

Re psychosis and biological determinism. there is a consensus (medically) that anybody under extreme levels of level stress would expereince psychosis- so the biological question ( assuming that most people would not willing choose to eneter into a state of florid psychosis) is why do some individuals have less capacity for dealing with stress-this debate involves considerations of psycho-social explanations and biological predisposition-so for example a child of schizopphrenic parents would be considered to have both a biological and envirnonmental aetiology. It is also the case that approximiately fifty percent of people that experience psychosis have been abused as children. This could be regarded as both a cause i.e psychosis as effects of trauma and effect-psychosis as a result of damaged relationships making it difficult to create adequate mechanisms for dealing with stress. As it stands, afro carriean men are three times more likely to be diagnosed as schizophrenic. My view is that this shows the instituitional racisism of the mental health system accompanied by profound ignorance about cultural differences about voice hearing-there is also the point that if a person is routinely subjected to high levels of discrimination this is a social stressor in its own right. Using your argument about DNA, we would have to say that race was the biological difference that made the difference ( a racist argument in its own right)

For these and other reasons, I don't find 'cause' very helpful-in the day to day, the meaning that a person makes of theoir expereince seems key to making it productive rather than destructive so I tend to focus on sources of distress when I am working with people rather than impose a half baked metamodel on their experience. Repetition is not generality, therefore I see no point in trying to generalise out from my experience nor would I dream to lay claim to the properly 'yogic'. There are practices that work for me and practices that do not.

I hope I have made my position 'clear'.

Dear Ruth,

let me add, that in Guattari's "Chaosmosis" it is mentioned that for
schizophrenics
something very deep down in the strates in the brain identifying with the body,
or in Freudiasn terms, the occupation of the body with libido or, D&G
-the "chart",
are to loose connected to it.

Now, some DNA researchers found, that that may be dued
to some missing sequences in the DNA, needed for the production of
an anti-stress hormone. The early stress and the current stress
is a hindrance for the chadrt to be builded or the libido has a
strong unlust barrier.

Here comes a deep secret: the flight line opened by that, goes to
even deeper strates, more directly connected to the consumption of
molecules out of the blood, thereby getting more discrimnation in
affects, feelings and objects, percepting the "flux" and making it stable.
This is the direction: awakening, superhuman (also occuring in Aurobindo).
To pursue the flight line and stabilize it: Vipareeta Karani Mudra.

So, the karmic bodies (yogic terminiolgy) gives here chance and trouble,
the vulnerability is due to a "default high level of stress".

So, it may be not so wise to deny plainly something biological
in psychosis - look at your critics of my reputed "biological reductionism".
This is not very yogic.
For yogis, purusha (mind, intelligence, "form in a very abstract sense")
and prakriti (energy, matter) are undissolvable intervened.
Like the body-mind for Spinoza.
Are you sure to be a follower of Aurobindo, who was a very
prominent explicite yogi?

Or do you have another name of a symbolic father?
Or none?

curious greetings

Harald
